CONSCRIPT is a top-down, classic survival horror game set during World War One. Take on the role of a lone French soldier, navigate twisted trenches, scavenge for limited supplies, and solve complex puzzles—all whilst fighting for survival in the midst of mankind’s most brutal and horrifying conflict.

CONSCRIPT launched on all platforms on July 23rd, 2024.

What is the CONSCRIPT: Director's Cut?

Director’s Cut is a free update currently available for the Steam version of CONSCRIPT. It contains new difficulty options, new items, new achievements, QOL improvements, new accessibility settings and more!

Will the Director’s Cut update be available on other platforms?

The Director’s Cut update is currently only available on Steam only. No news on other platforms at this moment in time. 

Who's developing CONSCRIPT?

CONSCRIPT has largely been a solo development project by Jordan Mochi (me) of Catchweight Studio! I started development in 2017 with no previous game development experience beforehand. Team17 came onboard as CONSCRIPT’s publisher in 2023 to help launch the game on all platforms.

Can I create media content about CONSCRIPT? And can I monetize this content?

Yes you can. Catchweight Studio gives permission and free license to create original media content (written or in video format) about CONSCRIPT. This includes previews, reviews, articles, let’s plays, gameplay videos, livestreams, etc. This content may also be monetized through ad revenue, donations or other avenues. Creating such content about CONSCRIPT helps the game greatly, so please go for it!

How was CONSCRIPT made? How did you achieve this art style?

TheCONSCRIPT was developed in GameMaker over. Environment art and UI elements were hand drawn in Photoshop, whilst 3D character models were animated in Blender and exported as low resolution sprites.

How long is CONSCRIPT?

Depending on your experience with the survival horror genre, the game is approximately 10-12 hours long for a first playthrough. Like many classic horror games, it is high in replay value. There are challenges to complete, and secret costumes and bonus weapons to unlock!

Is there ultrawide monitor support?

The game wasn't designed with ultrawide in mind, so not for launch. If there's a lot of demand I can look into it for a post launch update.The game wasn't designed with ultrawide aspect ratios in mind, so ultrawide resolutions are not supported. Most standard 16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratios are available, however.
